Something Wrong formed on September 2, 1997 in Jogjakarta. The band
bring the kind of homage to hardcore music, or more details, old school hardcore.
Initial formation of this band consists of: Latu (vocals), Wowok (vocals), Hendi (guitar), Soetik (bass),
and Karel (drums).
Something Wrong slightly terinfluence by bands outside, especially by bands old
School New York Hardcore like Agnostic Front, 25 ta Life, Warzone, and also
Europe is affected by some hardcore bands like Discipline, Brightside, and lainlain. But in his musical development also got a lot Something Wrong
influence of the type of music other than hardcore, like Oi!, Metal, and Punk. Nevertheless
Something Wrong keep trying to have the characters themselves musically because they do not want
labeled a band that has always followed the hardcore bands out favorite.
In 1998, Something Wrong participated in the compilation "United Underground", together
underground bands from various schools in Jogjakarta. But some
months after the release of this album, the second vocalist and resigned his position
replaced by a cat. This strengthens the entry of new vocalist in Something Wrong
musical character development and progress.
In October 1999 Something Wrong entry recording studio to record 8 pieces
creation of their own songs as a demo tape and deployed with a number of very
limited. On March 6, 2000 Something Wrong must lose drummer
Karel because they died. And to commemorate Karel, a demo tape which
recorded in October 1999 was released in 2000 as the first album.
Something Wrong which was given the title "DEMO '99 '". Formation in this album is a Cat
(Vocals), Hendi (guitar), Soetik (bass), and Karel (drums). The album was printed approximately 300
copy in the form of cassette and distributed indie label.
After Carl died, the position of the drum is replaced by Seto. Approximately 3 years after
The first album which was released in March 2003, Something Wrong again entered the studio
recordings to record new songs as material for their second album. Album
The second is titled "GET OFF MY BACK" and was first released in July 2003 by
Inmates Records (Bandung) and deployed is still in the form of indie labels as well.
This second album contains 13 songs that 2 of them taken from the album DEMO '99 by
the title of "Erase All Labels" and "Man Made Disaster". The theme of the lyrics on this second album is not far
different from the first album, which is about brotherhood, togetherness,
scene / community, social protest, human relationships with nature and problems
socially in everyday life.
Late in 2010 precisely in December is the anticipated personnel, ultimately
after nearly seven years out of our third album with the title "NESU" or
Negoro interpreted Edan Sengsoro Uripe (Passion of the State Her life was a mess). Total 14
tracks in this album, the intro and outro, 10 new songs and two songs taken from the album
The first and second. Special anymore, this album was released only in the form Boxset and
all the lyrics in this album uses the Java language or everyday language. This album
is the best concept we've ever had and we release for over a decade.
The album was released by our own label which is SW Records. Hopefully with the concept and
style of music that we can bring to enliven the music scene in the homeland.
